Martin Kelly scores own goal of the season during Chelsea v Crystal Palace
What a day it’s been for own goals.
First up was Eric Bailly who summoned his inner-Fernando Torres to beat David De Gea during Man United’s win against Liverpool.
But better was to come when Chelsea hosted Crystal Palace.

Luckily Martin Kelly was on hand to stop the shot with a goal-line clearance. Unluckily, his clearance smashed straight into Hennessey’s head.
The ball then bounced off Kelly’s leg and trickled into the net. A perfect moment to sum up Palace’s season.
Broadcasting laws mean we can’t show you the goal, but we’re sure someone more rebellious than us has stuck it on Twitter.
A deflection off Kelly was also responsible for the first goal so, if you wanted to be harsh, you could credit the defender with two own goals.
What was he doing before the game?
We can only assume he was breaking mirrors, walking under ladders and opening umbrellas inside the changing room.
