Mohamed Salah recreates Lionel Messi’s famous humiliation of Jerome Boateng after three minutes against Watford
Remember when Lionel Messi turned Jerone Boateng into a meme?
The Barcelona No10’s quick feet caused Bayern’s centre-back to lose his sense of balance at the Nou Camp in 2015 to the amusement of fans everywhere.
Well, now Miguel Britos knows about how Boateng felt at the time.
Sat. Down.Mohamed Salah opened the scoring for Liverpool against Watford after just three minutes with superb footwork in the box reminiscent of Messi’s famous goal.
Just like Boateng, Britos was left in a heap as he tried to keep track of the Egyptian winger’s feet and was forced to watch the ball nestle in the net while chewing on the Anfield turf.
Granted, Britos is no Boateng, but there’s no denying the brilliance of the Reds’ top scorer.
Andy Robertson’s inviting cross just before half-time allowed Salah to double the lead and extend his lead in the race for the Golden Boot to two goals — Harry Kane (24), Salah (26).
The ex-Roma winger has now scored 34 goals in competitions this season, beating the best debut campaign in terms of goals for Liverpool previously held by Fernando Torres.
His haul betters that of Luis Suarez’s best season for the club and he’s just become the third player in Anfield history to score 25+ league goals.
Signing of the season? Without a doubt…
